Hand Up Foundation is a charitable trust that was established by Ant Ford and incorporated in 2008. It is administered by the Board of Trustees listed below:
Approximately ten years ago, Ant made the decision to use his skills and experience to positively impact the lives of young New Zealanders. This included a six year stint as General Manager at First Foundation – an organisation set up to assist ‘academically’ talented and financially disadvantaged New Zealand students.
Just prior to establishing Hand Up, Ant also set up another charitable trust called Not For Me. Not For Me helps charities (many youth based) , community groups and sporting clubs fund raise by providing quality memorabilia, items and services free of charge which can be sold through auctions. Since 2008, auction items provided by Not For Me have raised nearly $700,000.
Ant’s other activities have included governance roles, youth mentoring, participating in some wonderful fundraising events and volunteering his time for various worthy organisations – including coaching a number of junior sports teams.
